Lovesac partners with Threekit to launch a leading edge product configurator that allows the brand to demonstrate the full value of its customizable couches and empower their customers with control of the design process.

Background 

Based in Stamford, Connecticut, The Lovesac Company is a furniture brand offering highly customizable couches called "Sactionals," which customers can build to their personal specifications. If you need a large lounging sectional that is made to fit a family of six, you can add as many Seats and Sides necessary to fit your needs. With dozens of fabrics and infinite configurations, the options are virtually endless with Lovesac’s modular and interchangeable design.

“The first time is always a challenge because they look like sectionals and couches and loveseats, but they have very unique characteristics in how they go together," says Shawn Nelson, CEO of Lovesac.

Lovesac wanted to showcase the adaptable and rearrangeable nature of Sactionals, allowing customers to personalize their unique couch and feel confident in their investment.

“We want to give people the ability to have done their research online, then come into our showroom and sit on our Sactionals, and see that it is what we claim it to be online,” says Nelson.

Problem

As a Magento client, Lovesac needed a visualizer that could easily integrate into their eCommerce platform. They were looked for a detailed online display of their pieces and covers to help shoppers understand how they would look and fit in their home.

“Lovesac is a company driven by innovation and sustainability. We saw the opportunity to create a better user experience so that people can create their own Sactional configuration. Because of this enhanced experience we expect to see less returns, which is ultimately better for the environment and for our world. Additionally, the solution helps customers create a couch that meets their unique needs and tastes. This means giving the customer full control over the design and customization of the furniture to build exactly what they envision.

Solution

Through the partnership formed between Lovesac and Threekit, Lovesac’s products have been brought to life on Lovesac.com with Threekit’s powerful product configurator and Augmented Reality capabilities.

Using Magento II, Lovesac was able to implement Threekit’s configurator into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software. The companies have created a strong partnership to power interactive 3-D models of different pieces of the furniture. The pieces can be viewed in full 360 degrees so customers can explore and measure every angle accurately. The configurator also allows for full customization for features like fill materials, arms, covers, and additional accessories.

Since Lovesac launched its Sactional configurator, the brand has been able to demonstrate the full value of its customizable couches and empower their customers with control of the design process.
